Book Review: Giver by Lois Lowry - Reviewed by (28 Nov 2011)

The Giver is a terrible and moving story, terrible because of what it does to you, an amazing kind of terrible, because of all that it holds. The story is set in another world, Dystopian, where there are no colours, no changes in weather, no hills and the same food stuffs every single day. Jonas and most everyone else in his town don't have a problem with it, because they know of nothing else, they have lived here all their lives and as they've been told it is the perfect and safest world for them, they believe the people who tell them. But there are sinister goings on behind the scenes, and soon enough Jonas, the new reciever of memory, finds out that there is always going to be pain in the world, but that you can't just shy away form it. Not for the rest of your days. Not ever.

An amazing book that will haunt you.
