Book Review: Once Upon an Ordinary School Day by Colin McNaughton - Reviewed by Sheepcoate (05 Jul 2013)
Once upon an ordinary school day is an interesting book.
The book starts off a little repetitive while it sets up the scene of the ordinary boy, in his ordinary room, he ate his ordinary breakfast then went to his ordinary school. Everything was ordinary until he met a new teacher and everything changed.
This story is very much about dreaming and what happens when you use your imagination and start thinking outside the box. The illustrations are really the key to the story, they are creative, colourful and you really get inside the head of the ordinary boy. Overall a fun read.
