Author Biography - Joan van Emden

Joan van Emden was Director of the Jove Centre, a consultancy specializing in technical writing and presentations. She was also a visiting lecturer at the University of Reading, UK, speaking regularly at conferences. She has written a number of books about communication issues and continues her involvement with editing and public speaking. Lucinda Becker is an Associate Professor at the University of Reading, UK, within Arts and Humanities. She is also a professional trainer, developing and delivering courses in communication, presentation, management techniques and job-searching skills. She is the author of The Mature Student's Handbook and 14 Days to Exam Success.
